Scout Cover

December 20, 1918 telegram sent by Jan Masaryk, son of the President of Czechoslovakia Tom·s Masaryk, to his sister, Charlota, in Prague. Delivered by a Czech Scout the following day (December 21).

Carmine color 20h Czech Scout Post "Arrival of President Masaryk" overprint tied by "POSTA SKAUTU" cancel. Signed adjacent to stamp by Mrnak, Gilbert, and Karasek. Signed in lower right by Tribuna (Chesloe).

Photo certificate from Karasek. One of eight recorded telegrams with "Arrival of President Masaryk" overprints (Pittermann). Once owned by Lester Behnke (deceased).
