October Cover of the Month

Following the disbandment of "Copmpany Nazdar," surviving members were reassigned to other companies of the French Foreign Legion's 1st Division. This post card was sent on August 2, 1917 from Marrakech, Morocco to Chicago by a member of the 6th Company, 1st Regiment, French Foreign Legion. The card went from the unit (blue cancel) to the field post (Tresor et Postes cancel) which then turned it over to the regular postal system in Marrakech for delivery to Chicago. The post card is written in Czech and the sender signs himself as a "Czech legionnaire."
