December 2004 Cover of the Month

Post Card sent June 25, 1920 from Camp Walcartieru, Quebec by several Czechoslovak Legionnaires to their former gymnasium professor in Výsoké Mýsto. Members of the 7th Infantry Regiment, the writers embarked in Vladivostok on the British ship Ixion which sailed for Vancouver, Canada.on May 23, 1920. From Vancouver the Czechs proceeded across Canada by train to the processing center at Camp Walcartieru, Quebec. On July 8 this contingent sailed from Quebec on the Garcia which docked in Cuxhafen on July 29, 1920. Legionnaire mailed from Canada is not only scares, but also difficult to identify.
