final Update

With less than two weeks to go before the opening of PRAGA 98, it is time to make our last addition to the information we have on this site regarding the show.

The mounting of exhibits will start on September 8 and the first meeting of the International Jury is scheduled for that evening. The exhibit will open to the public at 1100 on Thursday, September 10 and will remain open until 1800. On Friday and Saturday PRAGA 98 will be open from 0900 to 1800 and on Sunday from 0900 to 1500.

As a reminder, the exhibition will be located in the Trade Fair Palace (Veletrzni palac), Dukelshych hrdinu 47, Praha 7 and the Postal Museum, Nove mlyny 2, Praha 1.

A few changes and additions to the schedule we had in our last update are:
September 10 2000. Opening Evening Ceremony (reception),
Trade Fair Palace (by invitation only)
September 11 1300 - 2000 Meetings of various Societies, Park Hotel
(across the street from the exhibition)
There will also be meetings with creators of Czech Stamps, time to be scheduled.
September12
1000 - 1200 Meeting of the Jury with exhibitors
1000 Olympic Day - Meeting with Czech athletes, Gold medal winners, Seminar at Hotel Belvedere (change from the 11th ).
1700 Balloon flight carrying mail, Letna
2000 Location of Palmares Banquet has been changed to Národní D_m, Nám_stí Míru, Praha 2

 

Other item on our June schedule remain as they were.

Other events which will be of interest to PRAGA 98 visitors are:

  • A parallel exhibition of "The Oldest Revenue Stamps in the Czech lands 1686-1854" will be on view at the National Museum, Lobkovicky Palace.

 

  • A dealers bourse will be held from September 10 to 13 a few blocks from the exhibition at Bubenská 1, Praha 7. There will also be a major auction of Czechoslovak and related philatelic material at the same location at 1330, September 11.
